Daily Makeup: Eyes

At 25, I've tried a lot of makeup (haven't we all) and pretty much stick with the same old boring routine. Why? Because it works!  (Click on the pics for more info about the product.)

Time for eyeshadow!
Clinique All-In-One, Like Mink

I generally use shimmery brown/gold eyeshadows because they compliment my (blue) eyes and add a little "pop" without being too dramatic.

Here's another one I like:

Stila Baked Eyeshadow Trio

Eyeliner:  This is a real tricky one.  With so many forms of eyeliner out there--pencil, gel, kohl, liquid--it's difficult to find the best that works for me.  Right now, I'm really liking Avon's Glimmersticks Waterproof Eyeliner in Blackest Night.  This is one of those retractable, no-sharpen sticks.  I like it because I can easily make a thick line, and  it's not too soft.

Mascara:  I am a big fan of the classic Maybelline Great Lash, and I've recently tried CoverGirl Lash Blast and love it too.  I really like the soft brush it has, even though the mascara smells a little funky.

I'd really like to do some serious research on mascaras--why are there so many?!

Unemployed? Volunteer!

The economy still isn't what it used to be, and besides sending out our resumes to every random company on Monster, many of us don't know what to do with all of our extra time!  Should we go back to school?  Should we take random jobs from Craigslist?

Why not volunteer?

Think about it--you're helping other people and getting job experience!  But what if you don't know where to start?  Even if you're not particularly religious, a local church is a great place to start.  VolunteerMatch.org is also a wonderful site.

TOMS Shoes - Winter Collection

Peep the newest variations of the humble TOMS...

I love TOMS!  A big part of the reason that I love them is because with every pair that you buy, they give a pair to a child without shoes.  Really, Blake (the creator) actually goes to South America or wherever and personally hands out the shoes!

These shoes are actually saving kids' lives, not just making their feet more comfortable--barefoot kids step on things, like sharp rocks, and get an infection which spreads and makes them very sick because they are unable to go to a doctor.  If you can't even afford shoes, I'm pretty sure you can't afford to see a doctor.

It's very inspiring to see how one guy had an idea that turned into a movement--I'd love to work for this company!

"Reasons To Love Your Life"

This is a short but inspiring article from one of my favorite websites.

"Practical love is the best way to approach your life. When you love your life, by love I mean demonstrate the behaviors of acting in love, your life will reward you. I promise."

Cat-Eye Glasses

For some reason, I have an addiction to cat-eye glasses!
These are the ones I currently wear, from Zenni Optical:
This website is VERY cheap, and not bad quality either.

Here's another pair I found today:
They are from a website called Vintage Optical Shop, from which I have not yet ordered so I can't give an endorsement.
Sure, cat-eyes may be a little "dramatic" but I say why not look fabulous?  Why not play around with your "look" and wear what makes you feel good?  Not just glasses--anything.

What "dramatic" look have you been wanting to try?
